I think it'd be interesting to see how people on the list generally feel about some Sundays related things. 1.) Which is the Sundays' "worst" song? 2.) Which is the Sundays' "best" song? 3.) Which is the Sundays' "best" album? 4.) Which is the Sundays' "worst" album? 5.) At this point, do you feel that the future of the band is bright or bleak? 6.) On RWA, at the time, did you think that David was trying to play like Johnny Marr? 7.) Pick one guitarist that Harriet would be better or more interesting with than David. 8.) Pick one singer that David might be better or more interesting with than Harriet. [HAH! Yeah right but...] 9.) Harriet Wheeler - sex appeal or no sex appeal? [Think about this one and be honest] 10.) David Gavurin - sex appeal or no sex appeal? 11.) Harriet Wheeler & David Gavurin - as individuals (not as the Sundays), piss boring or misunderstood? 12.) Harriet Wheeler - not very bright or just underestimated? 13.) Do you think the Sundays sound will develop more or have they found their "sound"? 14.) Which band absolutely MUST cover a Sundays tune? Which band and which tune? 15.) Who has the better voice, Thom Yorke or Harriet Wheeler? 16.) Should the Sundays support the Wu-Tang Clan on their next tour? 17.) If Harriet Wheeler and Toni Halliday (Curve) suddenly acquired equal superhuman strength and fought, who would win? 18.) Do you prefer David's monotune acoustic strumming & jangle of old (Here's Where the Story Ends, Can't Be Sure, Medicine) or his newer electric muscle (Another Flavour, So Much)? 19.) Do you feel that the Sundays "owe" it to their fans to do more shows? If no, do you feel that they've ANY "obligation" at all to their fans who've stuck by them, some from as far back as '89? 20.) Which are your favorite Sundays song lyrics? 21.) What's your favorite line from a Sundays song? 22.) Which is your favorite MUSIC (not vocals) in a Sundays song? 23.) Which are your favorite VOCALS (vocal melody) in a Sundays song? 24.) Have the Sundays matured, become boring and uninspired or neither? 25.) On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the highest, please rate each album: - Reading Writing and Arithmetic - Blind - Static & Silence Please rate each album in relation to music in general and not exclusively to each other. Has anyone else noticed that David Gavurin and Harriet Wheeler have the EXACT same hands, most noticeably in their thumbs? -John ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Other News ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Date: Wed, 18 Mar 1998 12:04:49 -0500 From: Dawson Subject: Sundays LIVE PHOTOS! I was in London in a store called Top Shop/Top Man, a kinda trendy department store with lots of loud music over the PA. Anyway, I turned a corner and saw a giant video wall (5 TVs x 5TVs) and, of course, "Summertime" was just starting. Pretty exciting since I had only seen it once before in the States. Got fruit? Hughes" Subject: RE: Sundays poll As far as "Summertime" being the only single to be played on the radio, I can say in the Cleveland area it's currently on two playlists...our local "alternative" station, and our local "lite rock" station (???!!!?)... ..go figure. Maybe it ain't over yet. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From: Vegita NJ Date: Thu, 19 Mar 1998 13:57:42 EST Subject: the sundays on tv i was flipping throught the channels and heard 'summertime' playing. i quickly turned back to see that it was playing on my most hated of shows, 'baywatch'. has this already been covered? joe ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Date: Sat, 21 Mar 1998 16:31:48 MDT -0600 From: MAGNET FOR RANDOM GUNFIRE Subject: Once again....SUNDAYS in interesting places Hi y'all, I brought up a few months ago that everyone keeps hearing the SUNDAYS in places other than the radio or TV. Well, here's one that really took me by suprise. I went to Las Vegas for Spring Break and was wandering around the casino at the Las Vegas Hilton...and sure enough, Summertime was playing on theiry PA system. Needless to say I was very suprised. Anyways, I have a question to put up to everyone. We all know there are artists who are low key for a better part of their careers and suddenly hit it big commercially with either a large hit or an incredible album, right? A good example would be Everything But the Girl. They were around for over 10 years before "Missing" hit it big here in the states. Do you think this is or will be the case with the SUNDAYS?? I know we're all very dedicated to them and we know more about them than 99% of the music listening people in the world, but do you think they'll ever be a "top seller"?? I truly hope so, simple because I want everyone to know about their incredible talents. What do y'all think?
