ARITHMETIC GUIDELINES
Valid e-mail address - It is your responsibility to keep your e-mail
account valid and capable of accepting new messages from the list. If your
e-mail address bounces mail from the list, you will be removed from
Arithmetic. Then, you can resubscribe once your mailer problems have been
fixed.
Posting - Do your best to keep posts to Arithmetic related to The
SUNDAYS. However, we welcome recommendations for other bands to listen to
while we impatiently wait for new music.
If your message is directed at one person (e.g., a simple question or comment,
and the information is of little use to other people), please send it
privately to that person.
Quoting is useful to remind others exactly what you are replying to.
Try to keep quoting down to one or two lines, and note the person
you are quoting! Keep your messages to within 70 columns so that
quoted messages do not appear too confusing. Also, tabs should be
avoided since each system displays them differently.
Flaming - Opinions are an integral part of a discussion forum. We
ask that you respect the opinions of other members. Airing out conflicting
opinions on Arithmetic is fine (and would likely lead to interesting
discussions), however insulting each other (i.e., flaming) is not.
Personal plugs - Minimal advertising for an Arithmetician's own band
is allowed. Advertising for any other reason that has nothing to do with The
SUNDAYS is discouraged.
