THE BELLOWS - tribute band (9)
The Tao Te Ching reads, "The space between Heaven and Earth is like a
bellows. It is empty, yet infinitely capable." The Bellows are led by
singer/songwriter, James Oakes. His first live performance took place
a few years back at The Great American Music Hall when he played a
solo acoustic show supporting Mark Burgess, formerly of The Chameleons
U.K. He then went on to form The Bellows.
Based in San Francisco, The Bellows are a four-piece band: two
guitars, bass, and drums, with occasional congas and keys. They have
been described as melodic guitar pop to jazzy pop. The music is
distinct, blending emotional energy and layered melody, at times
simultaneously hypnotic and engaging while maintaining a subtle
groove.
The Bellows receive airplay on Live 105, KUSF, and KALX, and have a
debut CD to be released in May, 98. To obtain a copy, you may
