silence & misery is an entity of two souls.  Residing in 
lower-class South San Diego, musical diversity is scarce (despite 
propaganda deluding otherwise).  In stark contrast to San Diego's 
novelty ska and pop 'n punk bands, s&m takes their inspiration from Joy 
Division, The Smiths, and The Jesus and Mary Chain.  Music for the  
disenfranchised.
     The s&m sound varies from soothing and melodic to outrageous and 
explosive.  Jason Franco supplies the six-string textures inspired by 
Marr, Fripp, and Syd Barrett.  Michael R. Manzano supplies dynamic 
vocals [ranging from lush to commanding] and the persona of
controversy.  
In the dawn of the new millenium, silence & misery provides the new 
wake.  Wake up.  Get the message.
